This is an example of nasal reconstruction. This elderly female patient underwent MOHS surgery to remove an extensive invasive skin cancer from her nose. She was left with a large hole as is clearly seen in her preoperative photos. In fact, she was missing the outer, middle and inner lining of the entire lower 1/3 of the right side of her nose. Dr. Hilinski performed a staged reconstruction utilizing a forehead flap (termed a paramedian forehead flap). These photos represent the surgical result nearly 2 months following the reconstruction. Notice overall improvement with a result that closely approximates a normal looking nose.
