facial plastic surgeon in San Diego, lecture at UCSD Medical Center, rhinoplasty, Dr. Hilinski, plastic surgery

Dr. John Hilinski recently spoke at University of California, San Diego to fellow surgeons about surgical techniques for refining the nasal tip.

San Diego, CA – Dr. John Hilinski, a facial plastic surgeon in San Diego, was recently invited to give a lecture at the UCSD Medical Center Division of Plastic Surgery Grand Rounds. He had the honor of speaking to fellow medical professionals on the topic of rhinoplasty — more specifically, how to perform various nasal tip enhancements through specific surgical techniques.

During his lecture, titled, “Nasal Tip Refinement: Tips and Techniques,” Dr. Hilinski discussed the technical details and challenges associated with cosmetic reshaping of the nasal tip region. This included referencing a variety of cosmetic nasal tip deformities such as:

  • Bulbous tip
  • Bifid tip
  • Rounded tip
  • Pinched tip
  • Over-projected tip

Dr. Hilinski explained to the audience his rationale for choosing specific surgical techniques to achieve refined yet natural-looking results.

As a regional expert in cosmetic rhinoplasty, Dr. Hilinski feels it is important to help educate other plastic surgeons on the most beneficial surgical techniques for achieving a specific nasal shape. “When you hear this kind of information from someone who does the actual surgery much more frequently than you do, it may help alter your approach to future operations – for the better.” He continues with, “If I can help succeed in positively influencing even a few surgeons in the audience, the entire field will benefit.”
