We have quite a number of San Diego plastic surgery patients who desire non-surgical enhancement of the lower eyelid region. Many people refer to this as a non-surgical eyelid lift procedure. This is because we can help rejuvenate the lower eyelid region without having to make an incisions in the skin. I wanted to post this quick blog entry to show potential non-surgical eyelid lift patients what they might look like immediately following this type of facial enhancement procedure. This patient was bothered by the hollowing under her eyes that contributed to unwanted shadows and dark circles. She felt as if she looked tired all the time. She was interested in something that could help give her a more rested look without having to undergo the knife. We discussed how using Restylane to rejuvenate the eyelid region has become an increasingly popular choice among plastic surgery patients. During that same visit, she elected to undergo the non-surgical eyelid lift procedure. We used a syringe of Restylane to inject the lower eyelid region along a gentle arc as indicated by the red arrows below. This is done to plump or push out the soft tissue of the lower eyelid and cheek region. In doing so, the lower eyelid becomes less hollow and shadows more favorably. As you can see in her immediate post procedure photo, there is an obvious improvement in the contour of the lower eyelid. Although there is a slight red hue from the actual injection, there is a smoother overall contour that mimics what many patients see with an actual lower eyelid lift. Also note no real bruising and this is literally minutes after the non-surgical eyelid lift.
