Many patients interested in having injectable filler treatment for volume enhancement of the face don’t really know which of the many fillers they should choose. In fact, many of our patients here in San Diego ask us, “What is the most popular filler right now?”
Currently, I would say that Juvederm Vollure is one of the hottest fillers currently being used. For years, Restylane was the only filler that we used under the eye region to fill out unwanted hollows. This is because Restylane is so predictable as a filler to help volumize the lower eyelid area. Traditional Juvederm could have been used – but it often times created a water-filled appearance that left patients unhappy with the injection treatment. Fortunately, Allergan came up with Juvederm Vollure XC, which is the latest generation of Juvederm products that does not have this problem any longer. Because lower eyelid filler injection is so widespread (from patients in their 20s to patients in their 60s), it is not surprising that Vollure has gained such marked popularity in the last 6-9 months. Although I still use Restylane for enhancement of the lower eyelid region, Vollure has made huge splash and is now one of our go-to choices.
